Chicago Malls

The 900 Shops
900 North Michigan Avenue
(312) 915-3916
The Magnificent Mile is perhaps best known for its vertical malls, which house dozens of stores in a single, multi-level shopping center. The 900 Shops has around 70 different retailers, plus several dining options, a health club and spa, and a number of service businesses. Bloomingdale’s is the main department store in The 900 Shops. It extends through all six floors and offers customers a large selection of clothing, outerwear, shoes, accessories, jewelry and more. Inside the mall itself, there is an even wider variety of apparel and merchandise, including men’s and women’s apparel at J. Crew, Club Monaco, Diesel and Gucci; footwear at Adidas, Alternatives Shoes and Coach; and specialty shops at Teuscher Chocolates of Switzerland, Kaehler Travelworks, and Tweeter Audio-Video.

Chicago Place
Saks Fifth Avenue anchors this eight-story mall with retail space on floors one through seven. In addition to Saks, Chicago Place has more than 45 shops as well as a food court on the top level. A cross-section of the store directory reveals a wide assortment of goods and services that include items for both consumers’ homes and their person. Update your living room with a modern sofa from Home Element or get a manicure at Luxury Nails. From fine European wall art to exquisite diamond necklaces, Chicago Place has elegant articles to decorate and adorn.

Water Tower Place
835 North Michigan Avenue
(312) 440-3166
Water Tower Place is a lively spot to shop in Chicago because it has a good mix of high-end boutiques and mid-range stores. Upon entering Water Tower visitors are entertained by a ride up the escalators where a playful stair-step fountain waterfalls between the “up” and “down” escalators, unexpectedly sending sporadic bursts of water into the air. The main atrium of the mall rises eight stories and houses over 100 shops and restaurants. There is even a theater at the Water Tower Place where patrons of the arts can see live musicals. However, the majority of people come to Water Tower for the excellent shopping. In addition to Macy’s, which scales all eight levels, the mall has popular clothiers like Abercrombie and Fitch, Banana Republic, Bebe, French Connection, The Limited, Lacoste and MNG by Mango. Other favorite retailers at Water Tower are Aldo, The Body Shop, Sharper Image, Fossil, Godiva Chocolatier, Nine West and Nuts on Clark, to name a few.
